Outdoor Learning
Outdoor daily sessions provided by our Forest School Leader take place within the woodland area of Green Lizard Wood. Forest School sessions provide our learners with the opportunity to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences. By delivering this initiative, we aim to develop self-awareness and regulation, motivation, empathy, social communication skills, independence, self-esteem and confidence.
Through learning outdoors we encourage learning through play to accompany skills that are created naturally through socialising with peers and staff. Sessions include a wide range of skills and activities enjoying the natural environment; music, trails, treasure hunts, creativity and arts, den building, fire lighting and cooking, eating healthy, games, story time and so much more.
Through learning in the natural environment there is a natural element of problem solving involved which creates new imaginative ways of learning and working together.
