Job title: HR Advisor - Norwich

Reports to: HR Manager

Job Overview:

The HR Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Manager with all HR functions within Cascade. This position requires a proactive individual with a Level 5 CIPD qualification who can provide expert HR advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with HR policies and employment law legislation.

The HR Advisor will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment, addressing employee relations issues, supporting recruitment and retention initiatives, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations, and mentoring and training managers in HR processes and embedding company values.

In addition, the HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Manager overseeing and managing all HR processes for employee matters, including handling disciplinary actions, conducting thorough investigations, and managing grievances.

The successful candidate will ensure that all employee-related processes are handled efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Location: Kirkham House, Norwich, NR3 2AL

Working Hours: Full Time - 40 Hours per week, over 5 days Monday-Friday

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + 5% performance bonus

Must have Level 5 CIPD qualification 

Must be a driver

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Role Specific Duties:

  • Employee Relations: Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation to managers and employees.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performancemanagement cases.

  • Conduct thorough investigations and support conflict resolution efforts.

  • Manage the enrollment and registration of employees with the companys private health cover provider.

Recruitment:

  • Support the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, and ensuring processes are in line with best practice and regulatory requirements for Ofsted and CQC.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain high-quality staff.

  • Ensure a fair and consistent approach to recruitment and selection processes.

  • Maintain safer recruitment practice when providing references to external companies

  • Support with the recruitment and compliance when recruiting Overseas workers, including CoS management and all relevant right to work documents and checks.

  • Maintain, update and audit records for all overseas employees, ensuring records kept are compliant with relevant legislation.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.

  • Prepare HR reports and analyze data to support decision-making.

  • Manage HR documentation, including contracts, bonus schemes, and policy updates.

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR by managing personal data responsibly and securely, including conducting regular audits and training sessions.

Learning and Development:

  • Identify training needs and support the development and implementation of training programs.

  • Promote continuous professional development and monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives.

  • Assist in the development of career progression plans foremployees.

  • Mentor and train managers on HR processes, company policies, and best practices.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to help managers effectively lead their teams and handle HR-related issues.

Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practices in social care and education.

GDPR Compliance:

  • Ensure all HR processes and systems comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Manage and protect employee personal data in line with GDPR requirements.

  • Perform regular data audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential data breaches.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to handle data subject access requests and data breaches effectively.

Embedding Company Values:

  • Act as a role model for company values and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to embed company values across all levels of the organisation.

  • Work with managers to ensure that company values are reflected in all HR practices and employee interactions.

  • Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well-being.

  • Assist in the organization of staff events and recognition programs that promote company values and team cohesion.

Running HR Processes for Employee Matters:

  • Handle all aspects of disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees.

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee grievances and complaints.

  • Provide support and guidance to managers in managing employee performance issues.

  • Ensure that all employee matters are documented accurately and handled in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 5 CIPD qualification or working towards completion.

  • Proven experience as an HR Advisor, preferably within the social care sector.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and GDPR.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proficient IT skills and HR information systems.
